Different Types of Sarees in India

Saree ! Everybody in our Motherland - India , is familiar with this word . Lets go deeper !

Traditionally, Saree came from many different regions in Bharath/India  and  it is weaved with many threads of traditions, within Indian culture.

Every state in India  has its own variety of sarees. Famous sarees like Banarasee Silk, Patola Saree, Kancheevaram Silk , and many more ..these  Indian Sarees are  crafted in a special way using different fabrics and embroidery methods.

Lets look at few Regional sarees in India.

Assam Silk Saree

Kamrup district - Assam. They are famous for weaving delicate gold coloured  Moga silk and have their own style of thread work as well.

 

Banarasi Silk saree

Banarasi saree: Its  made in Varanasi,  or Banaras. These  sarees are among the finest sarees in India / world and well known for their gold and silver brocade or zari, fine silk and opulent embroidery. Original Banarasi Sarees are very costly .

Kanchipuram silk Saree

Kanchipuram Silk is a type of silk saree made in the Kanchipuram region in Tamil Nadu, India. These  sarees are referred to as South India's answer to Banarasi sarees.
